The Past Year

I have been extremely busy over the past year. I had four new nieces and nephews arrive. I have been working on my art. I started college.
College has been the biggest development for me. The first six weeks of the fall semester were excruciatingly bad. While I still live at home, I don't do well in new environments. I didn't have any friends. The amount of homework was overwhelming. On top of all that I didn't feel well either. I was wearing oxygen all the time. My joints and muscles ached. I would collapse on the sofa as soon as I got home. However I met my very good friend Angelina at the end of the first six weeks. It's amazing what the power of having a friend nearby can do for your presence of mind. I still didn't feel well, and I still collapsed as soon as I got home, but at least I wasn't alone anymore.
While I hated school the first six weeks, I enjoyed the classes I was taking. US History had an overwhelming amount of homework. Everything we were reading was extremely interesting, however, when told to read three articles that were fifty pages long in two days, its almost impossible to retain anything. So our discussions for that class weren't ever very good. I was also taking Drawing I. That class was extremely enjoyable. He would give us a set of problems that needed to be solved in the drawing and then let us run with it. Somehow I ended up doing a starters theme towards the end.

Jabba The Hutts Palace was definitely the best of all the drawings other than the still lives we did. My professor didn't think I was going to get it done on time because I spent an entire class period on the outline and I only had one class and a lab before I had to turn it in. I worked twenty solid hours to finish it on time and I had an Infusion at my doctors office the day I had to turn it in, so I was a bit rushed getting to the Critique. It went  well though.
The spring semester was still difficult but much better than the fall. I took Ceramics: hand building, Abstract Sculpture, and Anatomy. I thought I was failing anatomy the entire semester until I got my grades back, I got an A- though. Here are the art projects from the spring.

I also had two things in the student Art Showcase!

I was also but on the Deans Academic Excellence list for the spring semester. So ended my first year of school. I will try to update more over the next year. Hope y'all enjoyed!

More Dragons!

Here are the latest Dragons!! I added another fandom Dragon. I hope y'all like them!

This is the Sherlock Dragon. I try to take the colors directly from the shows they are based on. I think he turned out pretty well.

This Dragon is not a fandom Dragon, but she turned out very well! She is a Sea Dragon.

I also branched out and made a little teddy bear!

Dragons!

Starting new mediums is always an exciting adventure. While I was in the hospital last week I embarked on just such a journey into polymer clay.
My nerd side reared its head while I was making these. These are based on Doctor Who and Merlin. I tend to jump into the hardest project I can think of, which is problematic for me at times. Luckily these turned out well! I would also like to thank Dragons and Beasties on Deviant Art for inspiring me to try these!

Here is how I made the Merlin dragon.

Sorry it's not very detailed, and I didn't take pictures of every step, but it's a general idea.
Hope y'all enjoy!

Newest painting

I have been getting ready for a craft fair for the past couple weeks. While I was working on one of my mosaic projects I decided to do a little painting. I'm still trying to decide what to call it!
I got the idea when I was coming home from missouri with my family. There were gorgeous thunderclouds and I haven't been able to stop thinking about them since.

More pottery

Over the past few months I have been trying to work as much as possible in the pottery studio at Laguna Gloria. I was still only able to work there about once a week but I got an amazing amount of work done! (At least for me... I'm  not always as productive as I want to be.) Whenever I was unable to go to the studio I decided to do a little hand building. I hope y'all enjoy!
Here everything (almost) is before I glazed them.
I made these two at the hospital. Bubbles the fish and Jawn the hedgehog.
This is a flower put. The swirls took a lot longer than I anticipated when I started them. (I had to use the back end of the paint brush.. Not very conducive to making a lot of swirls at once.)
My salt cellar. I will probably throw thaws on the wheel from now on. They take o while longer than I want to, starting from a pinch pot.
Flower pot #2.

These are tea bag rests.
Spoon rests.
This is the bottom of one of the spoon rests.
These are soap dishes I made using a cookie cutter.
Two juice glasses.
This is a mug I made for my grandmother!
And last but not least here is a bowl.
