Spring break is finally here. This is the first time I have had a breather all semester. Not that I don't like being at school, however, this semester has been rather trying. Between Drawing II and the advanced ceramics seminar, it has been a bit hectic.
The advanced seminar has been extremely fun, though. Here are some of the projects I've been working on! (bonus of finished projects from figure sculpture last semester at the end!)
The first project we did for the seminar was to take a master ceramic artist that was working between the 1950s-1990s and recreate one of their pieces to the best of our ability and then create a response to it. I chose Jun Kaneko as my artist. (He is amazing by the way and if I could meet him one day I would be one of the happiest people alive. you should definitely look him up.) He currently works in Omaha and he has installations all over the U.S. and abroad. I chose one of his small "Dango" forms.

Both of them in progress. |

Working on of the forms before taking it off the table. It was about 2 feet at this point. I had to stand on a stool and having it on the banding wheel was a nightmare. |

Front side, the blue and yellow one is my response to the original. |

This is the second project. The project's title was Adorn. She is completely constructed out of porcelain with gold leaf. |

Compare and Contrast drawing project. |
|
Six skulls drawing project. I'm most happy with the top left skull. |

This is Eve. She was sculpted in wax and then cast in bronze. She was the first project from figure sculpture.
